Humane Societies of prince William County strive to ensure safe and healthy living for pets and other animals, as well as the citizens that own them. Shelter staff works hand-in-hand with animal control officers in helping citizens understand the legal aspects to owning an animal.
SPCA of Northern VA
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Northern Virginia (SPCA) is a non-profit, all-volunteer, private organization established by local concerned citizens to rescue domestic animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. Society’s volunteers reach out to media and growing number of people with newsletters, and offer free animal education articles and problem-solving assistance to the community.

Pet Assistance League
The Pet Assistance League (PAL) is a non-profit organization that provides foster homes for the many homeless animals in the Prince William, Stafford, and Spotsylvania counties until permanent homes can be found. The Pet Assistance League is a no kill, all volunteer rescue group currently fostering the homeless pets.
